Simple DIY: Colorblock Vase

Today’s post is a DIY project I did a few weeks ago that literally took no more than 10 minutes.

I’m a very lucky wife as my sweet husband sends me flowers several times a year, but there is always one small dilemma: what do I do with that vase?

When it comes to anything that could be used for a party or décor, I’m a bit of a hoarder. I can’t throw these things away — it kills me. This DIY is perfect for leftover vases from the florist – it gives you an inexpensive vase to start with and in 10 minutes, you can transform it into a fun piece for your home.

-Any clear glass vase

-Painter’s tape or masking tape (I used masking; next time I’ll opt for painter’s tape for cleaner lines)

-Spray paint that will work on glass.

1 – Tape off the area you want to paint.

2 – Using the spray paint, give the uncovered area an even coat of paint.

3 – Let dry overnight.

4 – Arrange your flowers and display!

So easy, right? Hope you have fun with this project — I rearranged the flowers that were still kicking from an arrangement my husband gave me a few weeks ago and put them in the new vase. I’m hosting a little party this weekend, so I’m thinking I’ll be doing this to a couple other vases this week.

Have a great day!
